But the fault meant nothing.
Whereas each step echoed out
Against the burnt ‘phault and sky.
Tatters hung limp,
Off each shoulder singing in aim,
With the staccato stagger "
To the legato fault of the
‘phault.

I'm going to miss writing Author Notes. This site... it's so broad, so public, it almost feels inpersonal, despite the extra feature that portray a more personal atmosphere. It's different, and I'm not sure I like it, but at this point, I don't have any other choice. So, cheers for my first poem to be posted on the Writer's Cafe.
Wrote this in English Class as was required. She expected spur of the moment inspiration to write from the perspective of the Symbolist and Imagist Writers we had just been learning about. You guys know me though, (or at least some of you do) and I blew that requirement off. This is what I came up with. Its strange, and will hopefully force you to think to get what it means. And don't get cocky if you're smart, and figure out one meaning by the time you've read it through. There's more than one. : ) Really though, take what you may from it, even if its not what I intended.
Oh, two things:
a) don't read this out loud. It will not only confuse you, but your audience will be speechless in confusion as well. (Trust me, I could hear a pin drop when I shared mine in class. Yikes!)
b) I still aced the assignment. Maybe it was for completion grade more than anything...Go figure.
