The Visitor

The Visitor

A Poem by Duke Teager

Life as swirling wind,
   spiraling vortex,
      circular repeating.

Feeling of nobody listening,
   nobody waiting,
      no anticipations.

Dazzled by this sudden appearance,
   unnoticed welcome,
      unworthy acceptance.

The rest is far more disturbing,
   highly misleading,
      greatly confusing!

And now to take my leave
                   As you secretly whisper
                   As the host gets eager
                   One disappointed traveler...

exceptional choice of words.. welcome illustrates inception. characteristic wayward flow that culminates in tragedy. remarkable conclusion. glad i have a bit of your brain. but it's precarious!

I would imagine this is about an angry and confused or lost person who meets someone only to find she is just as confusing and exploitive. The traveller could relate to someone just going through life.

I read this a bunch of times and I have to admit I'm not sure if I got it right. I didn't know if the third stanza related to the firt two or what followed after. Good poem though, with no wasted words.

this is perfect! Draws you in right from the beginning, and the structure is intriguing.
I have nothing to say to improve this. Wonderful work.
