Knotted HairA Poem by rose-coloured-penA poem I wrote when I was overwhelmed by life
Knotted hair
Not a lack of care
With so much to do
No time to spare
Knotted hair
A sign of neglect
When I look in the mirror
I feel upset
Neglected hair
It's troubles ignored
Its inner storms unheard
never reaching the shore
If my hair could show you what I feel inside
Would you want to see
Or should I just hide
Overwhelmed hair
As responsibilities and anxiety drown me
The beauty I once saw
no longer surrounds me
Tangled hair
When one bad thing has not yet ended,
Another begins
Leaving my emotions
Tangled from within
Stubborn hair
Why are others' so much easier to deal with
Why is theirs so naturally smooth
Detangled with a single brush
Cleaned with no care of what shampoo
Why is it so much harder for me
When it's something I never got to chose
Beautiful hair
Please do not compare
When I'm trying my best
My pain you do not share
Cutting hair
Don't let them hurt you anymore
Your new beautiful hair will grow
And I promise you'll soar
Damaged hair
Many things hurt it
But I have to be the one to fix it
Broken hair
I hope I can heal and repair
