The Spring Tree

The Spring Tree

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Words can sooth the soul

"
Oh visit me tonight
with words of peace

feed my spirit
a salve of solace

I need a balm
for my soul

there is a storm within
that bellows it's blustery voice

I tire from memories
incessant chatter

let me hear
your soothing coo

speak in my ears
what this heart
yearns to hear

let my head rest on your lap tonight

sooth my troubled brow
with your silken touch

let tomorrow tend to itself
I tired of carrying
its worries and concerns

let home be this moment
where evening peace reigns
I want to live here forever

let me not leave your side
for in your presence
I am content and satisfied.

Dave W., First of all, The Spring Tree gives me a sense of hope. Maybe it's the newness of life upon us.
The baby birds are hatching. The sprouts are shooting forth green and abundant.
Love is in the air. It truly is. You feel that spirit of love for Heidie and it's strong.
All love and life can come from that tree, David.
Lay your head in Heidie's lap. She is with you, I truly believe.
This is, once again, a work of magnificence.

All your beautiful requite poems are to her.
I know you would never rest your head in another woman's lap. Not in reality.
BUT the best poems are the ones we relate to.
"content and satisfied" can't be beat.
"soothing coo" could be "soothing breaths" ...
Wouldn't you love to hear that...but I digress.
Beautiful as always.
