Requiem amoris

Requiem amoris

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Love's requiem

"

I didn’t want to lose you,

lose my way,

lose what we had,

lost in a forest of longing,

thirsty for connection,

for familiar words

we would speak together,

now you talk in a language

my heart no longer understands,

where is amors guiding light,

where is passions warmth,

have I been chasing

mirages this whole time,

who would have thought

love would die in silence,

you sit next to me

but you’re not there,

don’t you feel the chasm between us,

don't you feel our isolation,

don’t you know we have drifted,

don’t you care......

I can feel the hurt in this piece Dave. Silence is difficult to deal with. You convey your emotions well here. A poignant write.

Thankyou Chris for the kind review
Silence can be a curse my friend.
"who would have thought
love would die in silence,"
Yes Dave. When we forget how to be kind, when we forget how to talk. We can become lost. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
