I love you

Words are cheap, when no price has been paid......

I'll not say "I love you" 

how could I 

"I love you" 

is common 

people say they love 

ice cream 

sports 

movies

and music 

how could I use 

such a cheap phrase 

for how I feel 

you are not common 

you are not a thing 

you are not a food 

you are not entertainment

you are unique 

no other woman could compare 

to your looks 

your mind 

your elegance 

your soul 

I won't say "I love you" 

but I will give myself to you  

I will put my desires aside for you 

I will treasure you 

I will forsake all for you 

I will bury the past for you 

I will walk into the future with you 

I will not say "I love you" 

I will live "I love you".

Telling the person you love that you will not show your love in a classical way means respecting them. In fact, not only telling them, but also saying that you will experience it in the end is the highest level that can be said. How beautifully written. I think it is very brave to state how simple and empty the words "I love you" are when there are hearts that cannot even say "I love you". I was wondering what you would say instead of "I love you"?

and it's even more ironic that the title is "i love you". as if this quote is just a "title". when i first clicked on the poem, of course i didn't think it would be like this. i was expecting someone who talked about their love, instead a deeper text appeared. i'm glad that

"I love you" is nice to hear, but living it is another thing. True love is self evident, it's the kind of thing that is known through action, a kind that doesn't even need words to be spoken because it exists and has made itself known, like Wesley in The Princess Bride, everytime he said "As you wish" and followed it up with actions. Thats how I would say "I love you" I would see the laundry needs to be done and do it because I know she has had a hard day and it helps. Probably not the anser you were looking for, I could be wrong.

This is good wisdom but if I can do what I can do to not be a d****e then I will, I prefer to be nice to people because I never know what they are going through, if I can be a light to soeone then I wish to shine for them and help.
