Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Death is the final goodbye nobody wants to say......

"
Back home from the funeral

everything the same as before

perscriptions needing refills

half a bottle of condioner

her glass of water still full

the right bedside empty

where other people saw one grave

I saw two

One of the only benefits of being born from a severely disordered upbringing is not having to deal with this part of the human experience. I feel for you guys. Life is bitter, it can be really bitter... the cost of normally enjoying the beauty is an eventual loss you will never recover from. (this is from someone with severe ptsd and an abandonment complex, so, I'm surely exaggerating). I do like the poem though David. You make good words come together with your brain.

My pleasure. Grass helps in moderation.
when someone very close to us passes...it can like we have passed as well...we lose our reason for living.
My dad went through this.

Sorry for your dad, the reality of loosing her hit after the funeral when I got home.
I saw two... I did not see it coming, but I was hit with such force that I had to review this amazing poem. It truly takes you to the lost moments and nostalgic memories of those who aren't in our lives now. I like your brief phrases with heavy meaning.

Thank you for your kind words, I am trying to get better at brevity.
while a short work, this really hits like a brick wall. there is so much of the personal, truthful, and a careful balance between drama and the banal. the last 2 lines had me floored.
when i opened your profile just now, i was ready for some gloominess, but this i was not ready for.
i hope you are doing well. this writing is beautiful, while a very somber topic. i hope you keep at it especially as you go through these next few days.

Sadder than sad, Dave. Your few words are sensitively yet beautifully laid, my friend.
