Persona ridens
A Poem by Dave W.
Smiling mask
A smile I'll wear so don't worry
In laughter I hide pain you won't see
A happy facade is what I will be
grass that is greener full of fakery
A cross to bear we all have our own
burdens not shared all kept at home
why would you care you'll tire of the groan
then you'll beware and off you have flown

i am known in every office i've worked at as te cheerful one. i make jokes, smile, laugh, do all the things the world wants. but they dont know what lies behind the mask. if they see it, they'd screech in fright. i dont need sympathy, and they dont want me to unload on them. is this a society? it seems to be..
