Regnum Noctis

Regnum Noctis

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Kingdom of night

"

Give me the rest of an infant’s repose,

devoid of the knowledge of the world.

Give me a heart at ease,

alienated from portents of the unknown,

blissfully still in the silence of night.

Let the evening serenade,

with its nocturnal symphony,

let stars be my dream light canopy.

Let me find the comfort of a moon light bath,

my skin aglow of its soft luminescence,

there is safety in the darkness

when all else slumbers.

Let me hide in the shadows undisturbed,

while prying eyes strain to find my form or figure.

I embrace solitude,

I melt into oblivion,

I walk through unconscious kingdoms,

full of imagination's wonder.
