Tace mane interlude

Tace mane interlude

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Quiet morning interlude

"

Quiet morning interlude,

the end of the day for some,

the beginning for others,

HI’s,

hello's,

goodbye's,

spoken in passing,

while those passerby's

are wishing the best for co-worker friends

their minds somewhere else

Hustle and bustle about to begin,

morning eyes still adjusting to the florescent office lights,

the outside world still black as night,

it's so early and so late at the same time,

Like a funeral procession

day shift workers shamble in

to work the grindstone

as the clock's hand slowly continue their faithful march,

like those returning from battlefield

the graveyard workers bid adieu

to the place that held them captive,

and so the cycle continues,

a new week,

a new month,

a new year......

it makes me think of that scene from Metropolis, workers filing in, heads down, spiritless, lifeless. it was such a great movie because it visually captured what life really is like. i am not working now, but i just remember that life i used to have and thinking deeply, i really dont miss it. i dont know what ill do for money, haha, but i honestly feel grateful for having this time off.
