Epulum Auribus

Epulum Auribus

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Feast for the ears.......

"
Tones pass through,
vibrations carry my mind,
on the wave of an artisit's passion played.

My ears feast,
eyes closed,
I drift,
I float on chords inspired by lifes trials,
sadness is felt,
peace is felt,
joy is felt,
I melt in the moment.

Now I know I am not alone,
I have connected with another,
a stranger from long ago,
someone who felt what I feel now,
I know their pain,
I know their passion,
I know their joy,
I know their peace.

My souls released,
my inner being awoken,
there is deep meaning in rhythm and melody.

If but for a moment,
time stands still,
the world falls away,
I exist in this higher state of being,
I escape the earth,
I ascend Jacobs latter,
I reach the divine.....

Sounds like an ear full. I'm mostly a blues listener myself. Although I was listening to John Mayer earlier. I like a lot of folk music too....really old bluegrass and stuff like that. Music can truly transport us to other places and times. A magical time machine.

I just remember listening to so.e really great music and wanted to capture the feeling
the past few days i havent been feeling anything. just numb...
but then i read this, i felt. i felt something.
it is mysterious how powerful words can be. poetry, which is the highest purpose language can serve, changes people on a cellular level.
thank you for sharing this.
