To my physician friend, 

words surgically written, 

precision application to my cardio rythm, 

tenderness delivered and healing from them, 

tears turned from mourning, 

to a sunlit morning, 

joy of a new perspective, 

like the joy of a spring day, 

in isolation it's hard to see that others care, 

in the gloom, 

a word well spoken at the right moment, 

is a sun beam ray that reaches and illuminates. 

My friend thankyou for taking the time to reach out, 

to communicate good will, 

in the way that is so unique to yourself, 

I always look forward to your  communique, 

to your upliting words always delivered at the right time, 

thank you so very much.

We should all have someone like that in our lives, Dave. But sadly, a busy life and general mayhem can shove empathy off side. That said, and I stress it - there are many kindnesses wandering life.. it's perhaps being in the right place at the right time. Plus if able, a person can find places and groups wher help is generously offered.. it's there somewhere. The local church, a library, centres offering different kinds of community activities. It can be difficult to brave up and take a first step.. but helping self is like taking polish to a precious and unique something.. even a tree - why not!
