Heart Revealed

I will reveal my heart, 

you can see me, 

slay me, 

I love you, 

vulnerable I will bleed for you. 

Nightly my dreams are watered with tears, 

lonely I wait, 

isolated I hold on to promises given. 

I willingly die for you, 

the death of my desires, 

the death of my dreams, 

all placed on the alter, 

I will be the sacrifice made. 

For your loves desire I will give all of me, 

I don't want to exist without you, 

my breath is yours, 

my skin weeps for touch, 

my heart races at your image. 

What will satisfy this deep yearning, 

from within the depths of my being, I cry out, 

never have I known a hunger like this, 

starving I come to your banquet,
waiting for dinner to be served, 

thirsty I visit your fountain, 

waiting to be quenched. 

I have learned patience, 

through the silence, 

I have become acquainted with loneliness, 

through our distance. 

There are two realities I live in, 

one by your side, 

in bed on a winter morning, 

your soft eyes closed, 

I watch you breathing, 

in awe I gaze your beauty, 

the other is me writing poetry, 

alone typing away, 

walking through fantasies, 

snapping out of it, 

and sleeping in a bed cold and alone.
