Euroclydon

Euroclydon

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Life has so many storms......

"
Oh tempest raging,
waves roiling with froth and foam,
be still,
peace is what I cry to the deafening wind.

I am tossed and dashed against the rocks,
defiant I rise against the thunderous euroclydon.

The call of the void,
sings sweetly to my melancholic heart,
to lay down and give in,
be divorced from pain,
an eternal bliss is it's promise,
I turn away from the tempting offer,
there is to much to live for to quite now.

Isolated I fight,
tired I walk,
heavy hearted I continue,
this is the only path now,
there is still a long journey ahead,
and I have a future to meet.

Yes, life is full of storms and tempests we have to face and endure. Sometimes they just keep coming and never seem to stop. At such times our resolve is really tested and it can be so easy to just lie down and give up. But life doesn’t just halt because we are facing a storm. So we have to keep on forging onwards and hope the rough seas will ease and we come back into sunlight again.

A very relatable theme for all, I believe. Struggles are universal to all. It’s how we deal with these tempests that determine the kind of person we become.

A well expressed and metaphorized poem. ❤️
