Unknown Journey

Everything has a price to be paid.....

Journey into the unknown, 

desirous of that country, 

of prosperity and joy. 

All forsaken, 

for the prize of adventure. 

The price must be paid, 

nothing of value is attained cheaply, 

yet the value of the prize, 

will be cheap at any price. 

Say goodbye to friends and family, 

facing the blackness of future's waters. 

All must be left behind for the journey, 

the cost has been counted, 

the sacrifice made. 

There will be peril, 

there will be storms, 

their will be heart ache, 

this is the exchange to be made. 

When I arrive, 

on paradise shores, 

I will be remade anew, 

the next chapter begins, 

as the Phoenix rises so will I.
