Mare Nexum

Mare Nexum

A Poem by Dave W.
"

This is a poem exploring solitude and it's isolating feelings in the ocean of life.

"
Where is connections bond,
alone I am tossed,
a raging tempest blows,
desperate I hold on to promises,
this drift wood keeping me afloat,
crashing tides drown out screams.

vulnerable I am naked before the world,
chilled to the core and abandoned,
where is north,
my compass broke,
the stars have hide themselves,
God hides his face.

Staring in to the abyss,
I hear its sirens call,
that temptation for the other world,
will there be an end?

Who's hand do I hold,
I am a child lost in a crowd,
calling for mother.

Where are her loving arms to run to,
desperate I reach for anything that will reach back,
I touch the blackness,
frostbitten I pull my hand away,
where is the warmth of another,
where is the safety of loves embrace,
I feel this ocean has no end......
