Memories Statue

Memories Statue

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Be are all building monuments in our lives....

"
Laments statute erected,
memorial to the past,
regularly visited and maintained.

This monument to failure,
mistaken words written and spoken,
are a chiseled epitaph,
emblazoned at its base.

How long of a shadow it casts,
features worn by time and tears.

A cold look from dead eyes judges silently,
it's existence says it all,
I suppose I could tear it down,
but then I would lose my past and forget,
no I think I will tend to it just a bit longer...…
