Heidie

Heidie

A Poem by Dave W.
"

I miss her so much

"
I see your face,
your eyes,
your smile,
your image is burned in my mind.

I see you there on the empty pillow,
I can hear an echo your voice,
my love,
my ghost,
my faithful phantom,
are you watching over me?

That moment I tried to hold,
I felt it pass,
no matter how tight I held you,
no amount of weeping,
could stop Destiny's' cruel desire.

You live in my mind,
your memorial I keep,
this flame in my heart eternally lit,
that moment visited every year,
your memory watered with tears.

It's harder to make out the details,
of our life together now,
I am older now,
I weep a little less now,
deaths sting a little more bearable now,
I don't want to lose you again.

Oh Heidie I miss you so,
how fast the time has gone, was it real?

These moments of sand that pass through,
these clouds and vapors vanished and gone.....

I could feel the pain and loss in this poem. I could also feel the aging process of grief and how it dulls some with time and the fear of loosing the person all over again by forgetting the pain. Very powerful and emotional
