Alone togehter

Alone and together what a contradiction.....

Alone again, 

yet you, 

faithful reader, 

one who reads all this nonsense, 

are with me. 

Alone I type, 

alone you read,

here we are connected, 

together alone. 

Words crafted from thoughts, 

from nowhere, 

from everywhere, 

from above, 

from below.  

Are you good, 

are you fine, 

how was the day, 

I really want to know?  

Is it a battle, 

is it a bed of ease, 

are you just beginning, 

or at the end?  

Across the world, 

or a neighbor just across the way, 

anybody, 

you can be anybody. 

Here I type, 

desiring connection, 

typing alone while I connect with your heart alone, 

I will never really know, 

just typing in faith, 

hoping I can reach somebody, 

it's just us, here in this room.

So deep and emotional.

The entire poem tugs at my heart. So many tender thoughts linger within.
It's like you're reaching out, and someone is there, yet, you still feel so alone.

I really like your stanza saying you write alone and we the reader read alone.
So true. It is our little get together, between Poet and Reader...our little interaction.
And even when we lose loved ones, we are not quite alone.

i am with you man... this being alone all the time is surely not good for the soul. but alas, not really any other choice.
and it's not just the two of us. there is a loneliness pandemic and the WHO are saying how many health and social issues have arisen as a result. things have got to change around here, humans weren't made for this.
and i like the poem. while you may have been talking about this particular site, it could well resonate with others who use social media as their prosac. i won't name the platform, but there's one which is definitely full of lonely users typing away.

Facts, i love all the feed back on all my writings but I realize I write them alone and read them alone and that was what kind of motivated this. Not a boo hoo sadness just weird that I feel a connection with someone and alone at the same time, what a strange time we live in.
