Sweet nothings

Sweet nothings

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Words spoken by your love are so sweet....

"
A secret spoken sweet, honey whispered.
I listened, ears drinking every syllable,
heart intoxicated with her words.
There was none else in that crowded room,
there was now only a couch for two.
Intently I focused, every meaning deciphered,
as she continued her melodic literation,
greedily I imbibed those promises of love,
those sweet nothings,
except they weren't empty to me,
these were auditory treasures,
now locked away in my psyche,
later on in the wee hours of the morning,
I would gladly rehearse.

Thank you Tumi, I always appreciate your reviews.
Wonderful poetry relates and this so related. So many guys need to learn a few things from you. The final line especially touched me because we females do wonder if our guy thinks about what we've said...or maybe you are the one in a million. I loved it. Thanks for sharing.

I will see myself out
Those sweet nothings weren't empty to you, they were treasures...and they will replay in your mind, running circles in your head, as you drink in every syllable. Nice to meet you, Dave!

Lol, it's ok. We're good!
Hurt-full words - we MAY forgive but never truly forget. The sweet-nothings ones are our emotional support as well as how we are bound with their speaker.

Hi Dave. This was a thought-full subject.
In deed it is. This poem captures the heart. Words mean more than often thought. Well written and well organized this poem conveys the feeling. Wonderfully said
