Empty Heart.....

Empty Heart.....

A Poem by Dave W.
"

We all leave a mark on those we connect with...

"

Vacuous cavity where a passionate heart should be.

What did you take from me, when you left so abruptly?

Your words loving now lack sincerity,

cruel truth opened eyes to see, a very real  fantasy.

Head struck by reality, stripped, torn, now drained and empty.

What shall become of me, what will I come to be,

a ship tossed in a stormy sea, nowhere to run but the urge to flee.

Escape from myself let me be free,

fractured mind insanity, remembrance of joy replaced by melancholy.

Just forget what happened, so easy,

just move on yeah right if only….

People are unpredictable, Dave. Your poem portrays the space within you which was once filled with love for someone so special, but now it is empty as she has gone without a word as to why she left and that is very finely expressed within the poem. I feel she took the easy way out, not wanting to upset herself by giving her reasons for departing. It is important to remember that it is NOT love which let you down, but a human being. By leaving your life she has left a door wide open for real love to enter. Somebody who will love you the way that you love them and who will always want to be by your side through bad times as well as good times. So be open to that happening in the very near future. You will forget about the one who broke your heart so quickly because your new love will heal all the heartache and hurt. Great to get the feelings out of your head and down on paper and you crafted a really poignant write as a result. Thank you for sharing, Dave...
