Lost

Lost

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Poem of loss....

"

Lost north emptiness,

adrift and alone, I died.

I wander, aimless unbound,

tether ties cut in an instant,

cruel it was and heartless.

Empty questions of why, echo into the void.

Moments of meaning now for naught,

nothing left, not a trace, your face lingers.

Did it even happen,

my own personal mythology told in whispers.

A fool follows the sirens call and I am worse,

destitute, devoid, devoured.

Delusional mind painted pictures of what could be,

illusion at best, nightmare at worst.

Loss is never good, but when that loss includes your own self and being, it can be the loneliest of places to be stuck within your own mind, that can't let light or hope shine and only let's in darkness and despair.
It is all illusion and all nightmare.
Excellent write.
