Lost friend

Lost friend

A Poem by Dave W.
"

We all look for that one we can connect to on the deepest level......

"

I cry out into the emptiness,

oh friend where you are,

the one I connect to,

hearts connected too.

Mingled spirits,

souls unified,

one mind and intent.

My friend,

are you lost,

shipwrecked,

adrift,

drifting listlessly,

windless sails stranded,

anchored in place waiting for me?

Where could you be,

wandering in the dark,

isolated,

stumbling feet shuffling,

autumn leaves crushed and broken.

I need you my friend,

those eyes piercing into my being,

reading me,

knowing me,

seeing me.

How much time have I spent looking for you,

longingly searching for you,

desired connection.

I will search this eras end,

born anew searching again.

Maybe you are a construct of the mind,

and that’s why you are so hard to find.

I wander in the dark,

I’m shipwrecked,

a lonely heart,

adrift,

accursed to feel this isolation.

I grope and grasp at a mirage of the heart.
