Love Unfound

Love Unfound

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Love is elusive and always out of reach....

"

Love where have you gone.

I have searched in a desolate land,

I took hold of love but it slipped through my fingers, a mirage of the heart.

I settled in the valley, in hopes that love was there, emptiness and void where my only companions,

I walked through the graveyard of memory, the headstones were blank,

love eludes and vanishes,

O love why do you mock, why are you cruel.

I have thirsted for love’s crimson wine.

I burn from love and am chilled by its absence.

Love is my breath, love slays me, love suffocates.

When will love’s hunger be satisfied,

When will love be fulfilled.

I Quixotically search until death consumes my flesh,

  love is unfound.

Love often arrives unexpectedly. Can't be forced or even prompted. It is one of Life's most beautiful gifts and whilst it could be bought or bribed - it only remains where it knows it belongs in someone's safe arms

Your poem suggests willing and wanting.. it will come, when ready to do so. Believe it.
