Love UnfoundA Poem by Dave W.![]() Love is elusive and always out of reach....![]() Love where have you gone. I have searched in a desolate land, I took hold of love but it slipped through my fingers, a mirage of the heart. I settled in the valley, in hopes that love was there, emptiness and void where my only companions, I walked through the graveyard of memory, the headstones were blank, love eludes and vanishes, O love why do you mock, why are you cruel. I have thirsted for love’s crimson wine. I burn from love and am chilled by its absence. Love is my breath, love slays me, love suffocates. When will love’s hunger be satisfied, When will love be fulfilled. I Quixotically search until death consumes my flesh, love is unfound. © 2025 Dave W.Featured Review
