Head Over Heels

Head Over Heels

A Poem by the wretched
"

usually hurts

"

we saw the ending,

before it began,

the notion, it scared me,

so heedless, i ran.

climbed up to the belfry

that is my mind,

and hidden there, rotting,

i let pass the time,

not daring to hope

for a voice from the stair

no gentle hand waiting,

to pull from despair,

not even thought passing,

did i expect.

so my surprise, imagine,

at what happened next.

the gentlest rapping,

upon tower door,

the tiniest whisper,

and then, nothing more.

but hope re-ignited,

had caused me to rise,

the darkness i plunged in,

was colder than ice.

the fall left me broken,

at bottom of stair,

through fear, hope lies waiting,

you'll still find me there.

I liked the imagery that was in it, as well as how you nicely balanced smooth and rough emotions. Nice description.
