Hades, My Love

Hades, My Love

A Poem by the wretched

you spoke of love

and the words darkly shimmered,

glossy and dripping

sickly sweet and bitter ash

rained down

upon the burnt out cities of my heart

blood filled the channels

and bending trees grew yeilding strange fruit

flowers like fire, and butterflies like dark lashes

fluttering and fawning

wings charred velvet black from burning petals

the blood water is cold as ice

foaming pink in the eddies

ebbing brown in the tides

the lands grow lush in the cities of the dead

crimsons and mauves, taupe and charcoal

lush as a wasteland

and just as deadly.

good description.

you paint a vivid picture in the readers mind. Made me imagine probably something worse than you did while writing it but hey that is how it goes.

definitly a good poem.

Extremely well written, but I find the theme somewhat uninteresting. All of a matter of opinion though.
