A Poem by the wretched

The stars glittered like broken glass,

when the hand of fate fell heavy.

Watched the sky go screaming past,

suns are rising and they're setting.

Time won't stop, and i can't move,

years speed forward, mind goes back.

Caught up in this wicked groove,

as often's done, when fate attacks.

And as the panic's setting in,

and emotions are left reeling,

I feel my mind begin to spin,

in this universe, free wheeling.

Hold on tight, or risk freefall,

as nausea begins to threaten.

Keep this fate, or risk it all,

no defenses, and no weapons.

Fear, an anchor, ironbound,

chains me to this broken fate.

Keeps me mired, spinning round,

there never was a true debate.

Eventually grip will be lost,

as pressure breaks body and mind.

But the loss is worth the cost,

if only it comes in time.
