Time is Only Wasted on Those Who Cannot See

Time is Only Wasted on Those Who Cannot See

A Story by the wretched
"

i'm young, and not especially wise, so i could be mistaken. but this time, i'm pretty sure i'm not.

"

all the delicate moments pass us by,

they sparkle, they shimmer, they taste like candy and smell of perfume

they are always there, in every passing second.

even as the clock seems to be mercilessly counting down our fate with every sharp tic of it lopping time into the behind us.

things still shimmer. they sparkle. they glisten. they shine. they glow.

they still smell of perfume, or flowers, or dryer sheets, or fresh cut grass.

they still taste of candy, of sugar, of ice cream, warm cookies, or chocolate.

we may not always notice.

but these golden little moments happen all the time.

sometimes, happiness is closing your mind, and opening your eyes.

its the way the rain glistens on your window.

or the sound of a voice.

it is a sunset. a burbling brook. the ice cream truck.

laughter. smiles.

and sometimes, its even tears.

its hard to believe in this world, i know.

but if you doubt me now, you'll see it yourself someday.

because even if you think i'm wrong.

these moments happen all the time.

you just need to look for them.
