One Way Ticket

One Way Ticket

A Poem by the wretched
"

once upon a time i ran away from my problems. all the way from Boston, to LA.

"

at four A.M. i rose and shone,

as bright as burnt out bulbs,

packed away the night before,

inside my mental tomes.

with one glance i could perceive,

my desperate situation,

caught a bus at southie,

but picked no destination.

i just rolled the course along,

past every state and street.

when i reached the other side,

got back up on my feet.

and though the road is e'erlong,

as oft it takes to winding,

adventure's gone and won my heart

and the contracts binding.

so merry meet, and merry part,

for if we'll meet again,

i cannot tell you where or how,

nor even could i when.

but rest assured, your memory,

in mine, forever burned.

would make you who i wished to see,

if ever i returned.
