Two Steps ForwardA Poem by the wretched....a lifetime back
And so becomes another year, hope or despair, still not clear. As yet, will i move on from here, will fate be kind or interfere? The never knowing drives me mad, this ever growing feeling, sad, how could you lose more than you had? No one said it would be this bad. Stubborn, try to shake it off, but it stays, like lingering cough. From the sidelines, mock and scoff. Inside your head, like fluttering moth, leaving squirming worms of guilt, that chew through all the walls you've built. All the blossoms of hope, wilt, cause the scales of thought to tilt, All your sins are magnified, when seeing you through others eyes. Desperately you seek to hide, wishing only swift demise. When bottom's struck and all is lost, the last hand dealt, the dies are tossed, cities burned and bridges crossed, salvation comes, but at a cost. Only chance, so dont complain, you'll learn to ignore the pain. Close your eyes, and sign your name, the cycle's started, once again. © 2008 the wretched |
