Marasmus

A Poem by the wretched
"

all in due time

"

my heart chokes on words

my lips say with ease

all with which i struggle

leaves me vague and displeased

and my head is spinning

and wracked with this torment

made a deal with the devil

but the price was exhorbent

now he's come collecting

and i cannot pay him

as so often, such is,

the outcomes of our whims

when fate comes a knocking

to collect what it's owed

the harvest falls meager

to what we had sowed

and trembling we beg of

cruel fate to spare us

or grovel for death sweet,

faraway, to spirit us,

the stars glittered cold

both sky, and on cheek

the eve fate stole in,

and caught me asleep.
