Like You (5-26-95)

Like You (5-26-95)

A Poem by Secret Life of Me

My art flowed over tongue and brush and pen,

Annointing me with purple dew,

And I danced where all other walked.

I never was like you, like you.

Your life was a respectable place

Where parents kiss and love was free

And horrors, you never knew,

You never were like me, like me.

I like the repetition at the end of each stanza, it adds a lyrical element to your piece. This is something that we all can relate to in one way or another. There's never another person quite like us, but we relate in different ways to one another. I like the way you've stated that in this piece.
