A flash of empathy

A flash of empathy

A Poem by dsouzaman

On stage, the performers stood exposed.
Boiling emotion steaming through glowing skin and gleaming eyes in bodies otherwise composed.

For a moment, their inner world connected directly to mine.
A sudden flash of empathy revealing the storms within their mind.

I felt the impending sense of doom and regret and the sweet yearning and drive and the deep void struggling to break through!

In this sudden intimate view,

I was transformed.

My inner world was blank before,
all storms neatly suppressed.
But their flood of feelings unlocked my own,
and, in silence, I expressed.
