False Promises

False Promises

A Poem by destiny

false promises always evaporate

like a broken heart,

a glimpse of hope,

a thousand years i'll have to wait,

a million nights alone.

love slips through the cracks, breaking down walls

and hearts always shatter soon after they fall,

trust dissappears in the midst of it all

yes you're alive,

but you're also alone.

and all of those promises will evaporate,

like the flowers that wither

as the rain turns to snow,

like the innocence of a child

as it learns to grow,

like the memories that fade from the soul.

false promises evaporate.

false promises always evaporate
like a broken heart,
a glimpse of hope,
a thousand years,
a million nights alone,
i'll have to wait.
love slips through the cracks,
breaking down walls
and hearts always shatter
soon after they fall,
trust disappears in the midst of it all
yes, you're alive,
but you're also alone.
and all of those promises will evaporate,
like the flowers, they wither
as the rain turns to snow,
like the innocence of a child
as it learns to grow,
like the memories that fade from the soul.
false promises evaporate.

needed a little clarity in there...but it's a sound verse...I say this was a toss up between "False Promises" and "Evaporate"...as the title...but even/or...good to read your work...
