The Morale (of the Beast) - Day's End and Night's Beginning

A Chapter by Philosophers' Dreaming
"

The life of a monster with a conscience.

"
This is how I came to be what I am today... This... This monster.
I am nothing more than a creature that exists somewhere on the plane between living and dead.
I don't age, I don't die from bullets or falls of unbelievable heights.
Everything extraordinary, however, comes with a price.
My name by birth was Devon Smith.
Thus I am now writing my life as a monster born in the shadows and raised to kill.
I was born in Brooklyn, New York and as it was I already had to look over my shoulder coming home from work at night
for the living who meant to harm or rob me of something... No one ever explained to me that the living dead or vampires,
despite them being labeled as folklore or just myth, were the ones who wished to rob me of mortality and instead replace
it with the curse of immortality.
If there was one mistake I could ever take back,
without there ever being hesitation in my mind, it would be the fact I had to kill in order to continue living....
It can't even be called a life anymore, just a cursed way of living. Night after night, the day's were never the same
sunlight hurt like hell. I always was short of breathe and had cold sweats that left me exhausted...
That's when the Day ended and where the endless Night began.
