Eroded Boulders of Dreams

Eroded Boulders of Dreams

A Poem by Aaron Burnette

The red, hot, coal sun

Simmered up above gray waters,

Acquainting itself with cotton candy skies,

Blowing passionate endearments to the

Beach I saunter across.

Clutching a fistful of silk sand,

I observe as,

Grain by grain,

They escape from my grasp,

Carried by vicious gusts,

Stealing tiny particles

That once resembled a boulder.

A boulder of dreams eroded over time.
