The Antithesis On Cigarettes, Betrayal, and Death.

The Antithesis On Cigarettes, Betrayal, and Death.

A Poem by Aaron Burnette

The Antithesis On Cigarettes, Betrayal, and Death.

My cigarettes and your heart wrenching lies
Suffocate these already gasping lungs.
The poison is not in the smoke
Its in your betrayal,
All those counterfeit kisses left on
Slim cheeks,
Trembling hands,
And
Dying pink rose petal lips,
Morphing them to morbid blue,
Killing my confidence

You never waited to see me at my greatest

To see me bloom
