i applied to college and im sad

this is dumb and sad

i ignored all of the people

who told me forgetting

your first is going to be hell.

i was a sophomore and you

were a junior and then i

was a junior and you

were a senior. i guess i

didn’ really think about

it until you left that you

were not only my first

but my only as well and

now that youre gone i

listen to what people say

about love and i tell my

friends not to love anyone

who is older or younger

or anyone at all really

because the inevitability

of loss is so goddamn

painful and i don’t want

anyone in the world to ache

the way that i ache for you
