half-sister

A Poem by h d e rushin

I dated a blind girl in 84,

who would run her

fingers over the

ugly of me,

over the storied

hallucinosis of my self

worth. Stopped

at my disintegrative grays,

the darkest and lightest

parts of my photography

where she would whisper,

"you are ugly",

then we kissed.

Brilliant piece of .. flowing words, emotions and thoughts, and a wonderful last line. No matter the adventure, is what's felt inside that finally shows itself that matters; the kiss perfects everything that comes before. A teeny touch of surrealism here, for me.

A great photographer turns a snapshot in time into a story. A great poet turns a poem into snapshot with the depth to describe the whole of one's life experience within a few words. You, sir, are a great poet.

What's written literally is pretty damn terrific, and what's sitting there between the lines leaves me, as Ms. Corset noted, flabbergasted as well.

flabberghasted, you are so brilliant, darn you. That's the entire beauty of being a mole, I suppose, instead of a duck.
