A Poem by h d e rushin

DEAR LORD,

HOW YOU GONNA SORT THIS OUT?

i PRAYED LAST SUNDAY THAT MY

BELOVED LIONS WOULD WIN.

tHEY DIDN'T.

PRAYED MY COUSIN WOULD BEAT

THAT BREAST CANCER THAT TOOK HER

CURLY HAIR,

MADE HER VOICE HIGHER THAN robert plant

when Zeppelin made "HOUSE OF THE HOLY'.

iT KILLED HER.

bUT TRUTH BE TOLD, MY LIONS

NEVER WIN, AND

PSYCHOSIS,

AND POISON,

AND CANCER ARE

KNOWN KILLERS.

I'LL TRY AGAIN

LATER.

This is so...well, real! We all pray to the G-d of our choice for so many reasons and of course not all those prayers are answered....some would be impossible to answer. That does not mean we have to be cynical and give up hoping and wishing for things in our lives. The honesty of emotion in this one is wonderful. Lydi**

I for one think we get ourselves into nothing but heaps of trouble when we try to hold God to our egotistical notion that there should be a reason for everything. I think lives are fraught with peril to make them all that more precious, each day of joy etched in the beauty it returns to when all is said and done and that final stroke is place on unfinished work. Because it is all unfinished work, isn't it? The poet lives to see his team redeem itself; he dies with 12 unfinished poems yet to write. And some are taken way too soon, and I can only hope two things: that they DO get other chances, and that they were maybe needed elsewhere for a while more than here. Reason? hell no. comfort: less, some days. But then, what are our tears, but happiness leaking out and remembering itself?

love you too, my dear sweet friend. we'll get through this.

you and God need to sit down over a bottle of something good and hash all this out one of these days

he's probably gonna say he has reasons you can't see, he's probably going to say he's sorry to put you through this, he's probably going to shed real tears and tell you he loves you even if he can't give you everything you ask for

i love you, dana

I am sure this prayer hit the in-dept ceiling, then came down in pollen currency,
like so many urgency's dieing in flowers without a bumble close enough to sting...good piece

Is this irony or cynicism of the best kind. You know better, wiser, and how to string words and make logic seem one, other, or both. Prayer comes in different weights ..
