on becoming independent.

on becoming independent.

A Poem by h d e rushin

from terrance hayes

i've learned to be

muscular.

to get wet in the fields;

of the dirty  hair of horace silver.

to learn to dispute

accomplishments as greedy

balls of skill,

before the armistice

gives away the wine

of the occupied town.

Nothing more.
