equifax?

equifax?

A Poem by h d e rushin
"

thinking out loud

"

   I got my new credit card in the mail today. Didn't they realize

   that I totally fucked up the last one.Bought a whole bunch of

   stupid stuff, most of which I cant remember; warm sandwiches,

   a faxed copy of my sisters kidney stone, tire rotations, the

   swing set for my daughter grown and moved to Atlanta,

   syllabary pocket dictionarys I use to pretend I understand

   words I cant pronounce, the ten-commandments mom made

   me swear to  framed and hanging in the upstairs hall

   with the light fixture I cant reach, the magazine that sets

   level the three legged toaster.

   Dont they know?

   My mind raced all morning, after activation,

   like the old world skylark, noted for song,

   raced thru the night sky.

   The recorded message saying its time;

   time to wish again for the wisp of American

   bullshit I cant afford, can have,

   but cant affort to pay back.

   It's madding the wizards, so

   marvelous that distort our

   want images, that

   compel us to the

   shown of barratry;

   from moon and sexton of the weakest star.

   I shant wish.
