Lock, Load, Spray, Pray

Lock, Load, Spray, Pray

Lock, Load, Spray, Pray

This is the American way

A new daily occurrence

Testing sanity’s endurance

Senseless atrocities

Committed in our cities

Tensions and body counts rise

As we approach our demise

Empathy becomes abominated

As violence is advocated

When the megalomaniacal

Become the homicidal

A nation closer to hell

With each discarded shell

Be sure you are ready

Cocked, Locked and Steady

When the monster you fear

Can be viewed in a mirror

I like the layout again, rhyming couplets. The subject matter is powerful and the chosen words are powerful also. It tells of the world we live in, America, England, the're both the same. I live in England but I suppose we in the western world can all relate to it.
I'm an old rocker from the early seventies and this reminds me of something Bob Dylan would put to music.
