Semester's End

Semester's End

A Poem by Steph Crandall

Alto, soprano, tenor, bass.

Heroine addicts don’t wear short sleeves,

even in the summer.

It’s a reminder of the pain they have internally.

Drugs are bad,

but they feel so good.

It’s so hard to stop.

I could probably play this song on drums,

the beat boxing.

Drums. Mike.

He’s not the bounciest blow dryer in the refrigerator.

“Imma Writer.”

You have to say it

with that “Scott Greenberg” tone of voice.

Semester’s almost over.

Such a great year.

Awesome people.

Awesome places.

Pacabel’s Cannon in D.
