something real

something real

A Poem by Harmony Lee

however from nothing springs that invincible something

(for if there is not no thing then why is there any thing)

like the void of darkness that gives form to pitch-black

which is only perceived with the light through a crack

and what light if even it were clear and colorless

could refract every possible hue in eternal abyss

all at once where is space and therein something to fill

giving sequence and order to time when it stands still

yet ripples with movement as the image we saw

through our own inner eye gives way to such awe

for who are we really and how did we get here

by design and/or some genesis did merely appear

all of these questions which we here and now ask

seem enigmatically oriented to unveiling a mask

but something must exist then we reason and feel

for us to know that the veil is or is not something real

this is a thought provoking piece and asks its readers to look within for its answers. Each of us may have our own perspective steeped within our existential thought. Are we real or the stuff of dreams. And if so, who's. Thank you for sharing your poem.
