stargazing

stargazing

A Poem by Harmony Lee

twinkling starlight

reflects in these buoyant blue eyes of mine

becoming somehow more beautiful

as the well water marries the divine

faraway fantasies

frolic in this imagining mind

boundless love and true peace

beyond such secular bind

glittering constellations

claimed to be authored and created

something greater than a big bang

something else flawed and fated

fickle fingertips

touch the dense skyline from afar

planted soles of fluttering feet

rise to tiptoes on blackened street tar

sometimes i do wonder

if there is not

something so sacred

within the ground

upon which i stand

something so holy

which may abound

in the very land

pulsating from the bottoms of my bare feet

within the wholeness of my physical being

up through the stargazing lilies in their sockets

as they look beyond the outstretched arms

past the horizons

into this expansive abyss of night

sometimes i wonder

if my hands which graze the invisible air

which would seem to grace them

first or in return

like the beauty of god within me

reflected into my own eyes

through that

twinkling starlight

When I read your lovely lines, I got the feeling that there is so much more than our understanding. Love is so powerful. If only love could be harnessed and distributed, our time here would be far more enjoyable. In the meantime star gazing is a must. I enjoyed this poem.

I think the last stanza is the key to the poem. What looks from within only looks upon itself.
