God Looks On Amused

The Self bobs and weaves
Like Mohammed Ali in the ring
I am not here to fight
Although fighters surround me

Love conquers all
So I smile whimsically
At their attempts to overpower me
Silly asses… their insecurities

Close off access to their wisdom
So I sigh and move inward

Humanity is One with Creation
They like to pretend they are better
Better than what?
We are all matter

We are all energy
We are all equal
In the eyes of the Divine
Priorities are lost on me

When the scales
Tip awkwardly

Midgard is reality
Samsara surrounds me
Tangible space keeps me grounded
To the spaceship Earth

Buddha once said
Blessed is he who knows
Samsara and Nirvana
Are One

I try to seek that truth
I wanted to be blessed

All too often I fall short
Short of temper
Short of patience
Short of self acceptance and awareness

I inhale contentment
I exhale exasperation
People like wars
What a sad state of reality

If they cannot control you
They seek to kill you

Such are the sign of the times
Governments crumble
Greed and envy cause pain
God looks on amused

Silly buggers those humans
Taking this all so seriously
I rest in my cave
Emotionally exhausted

Wondering what’s to come
Seeking the wisdom

Of the prophets of compassion
Concerning the web of relationships
Which span the globe
The ignorant cover their ears

To the cries of their victims
Blaming their victims
For their own pain
As they bomb them unmercifully

Back to the God
Who laughs at their folly

We are eternal
We are United
We are Self
When we deny others

We deny ourselves
Freedom is a gift
Given us at Creation
Use it wisely

And bless us
Everyone

"Silly buggers those humans"...couldn't be said any better. How well you describe a pathetic dance. Can we save ourselves? Heavens to Dickens, only Buddha knows...
