Giants

Giants

Giants guide my life
So tall I can’t see
Their kneecaps
Let alone look them
In the eye

I cower before them
Afraid of what will be
When I stray from my path
These giants return me
Then I remember
To prioritize

I know they will not change
I must adhere to their wishes
Powerless to stop them
They do with me
As they will

I learn as I suffer.
If I don’t suffer,
I don’t learn.
I like to learn.
Learning is important.

I once felt stupid
I never want
To feel stupid again
So, I thank my giants
I needed that!
