AllegoryA Poem by Drowning In RealityArt: Party Goers by J.PlanetAllegory The Magus danced on a light beam Singing that the power is mine I stare at him in wonder Then laugh at his silly joke He laughs merrily as well While climbing on the chariot of change Reaches out his hand to offer me a lift Preparing for the journey of a lifetime I cower slightly unsure of my footing Balance was never my forte Lost in my journey to Center Power crumbles in my hands He grabs me by the waist And hoists me to his side Venus winks on the horizon Moon rises fully dilated I turn my face to the sky Magus holds me fast As we race across my dreams Too excited to breathe Arms outstretched I cry For what might have been Magus laughs at my folly Power lies in what is I open my heart in wonder Releasing an old dirge Magus roars his disapproval Reminds me to follow the bliss Couldn’t remember the name Magus hands me a rose Blood drips from its thorns Can’t return from here © 2017 Drowning In Reality |
