Hearing Her Song

Hearing Her Song

A Poem by Drowning In Reality

Hearing Her Song

Miracles lie in my future
So whispers the breeze
I lie in my center
The eye of the cyclone
Of Human souls
Caught in the turmoil
Of existence

Truth lies in the center of my heart
Gain rules my conscious thought
Emotional clarity in my subconscious
I am ignorance personified
Accepting the eon as it unfolds
Oppressing myself
Seeking enlightenment

Art, Creativity,
Instinct united with intuition,
Our flexible nature
Make the Wheel of Fortune
Spin on its axis of Sun
Every breath is a new beginning
Future arrives with every blink

Fighting the flow is self defeating
Accepting what is
Allows us to work within our means
Crushed against the weight of the tide
Often we forget our power
Our strength lies in calm
We cannot change reality

Disappointment comes from expectations
Disillusionment from fear
Never feeling worthy
Reality undermines sense of self
Economic Darwinism suffocating material needs
Greed overcoming compassion
Superiority an illusion of ego

I make my own luck
But no one controls fortune
It lies in the hands of the all
I must trust the Divine
To guide me to my purpose
Open my heart
To hear Her song

We are whole
We are the all
Each a piece of the puzzle
Wisdom comes from unity
Virtue comes from compassion
Knowledge comes from experience
Will comes from choice

Karma is my tool
The three-fold law my blessing
I send out only what I long to receive
My expectations are minimal
Possibilities are limitless
Creation is abundant
Hold out your hand for a share

this read like a series of proverbs ..of wise idioms that are self contained and each one a challenge to grasp ... i get a feel from this that is like when one sits down to meditate and glimpses the focus but strays away in the next instant ... letting go and getting to that point of empty and bliss filled ... (i have never gotten further than the turmoil myself ..but i know what you mean;)
Ken Simms has been working on disconnected lines ...that somehow have cohesion ...the style in your poem kind of reminds me of that ...lots to think about ...there is a journey and struggle bound up in your wisdom ...
